Looking outside, I see that everything around us depends on the Sunlight! Or say the Sun! But why?
Oh well, I don’t know! So, I decided to make a career out of it.
To check out my career path, see my boring research link: here research profile.
Research projects that I offer:
- How the solar atmosphere is energised?
- How to become a solar flare hunter?
- New: How solar irradiance affects local weather.
10 years into this career path, I still don’t know the answer so, I decided to find some minions to help me find one. These are my graduate and undergraduate students based at the Dept of Astronomy, NMSU.
- Nived: A joint student with Prof J.G.Doyle who works at IUCAA, Pune, India.
- Oana Vesa: Final year student at NMSU who studies solar tornadoes and waves in the solar atmosphere.
- Amanda Stricklan: Final Year, now at LANL, studies on chromosphere-coronal coupling.
- Khagendra Kathuwal: 3rd Year student studying coronal hole evolution.
- Undergraduates working on solar research: Isabella Rodriguez.
- Undergraduates working on atmospheric science research: Marco Martinez (final year), Christine Houser (Freshman), Aidan Brealey-Rood (Freshman).
Courses I teach:
- Graduates: Solar Astrophysics (Obviously!)
- Undergraduates: The Planets, Revolutionary Ideas in Astronomy.
- Undergraduate research projects.

My book!
Well and no! I am not some solar energy sales-person… I am just someone who points big telescopes at the Sun…
